Day 10

Today I had:

39 oz papaya, pineapple, mango
43 oz green juice (chard, parsley, spinach, cilantro, celery, red bell pepper, 1 apple)

a
I had some good bowel movements today... not as watery as it has been. It was more like the green pulp coming out of a juicer. And quite a lot of it.

My tongue coating seemed a bit lighter

Day 9

Today I had:

16 oz grapefruit, lemon, lime with MSM and zeolites
49 oz green juice (spinach, kale, dandelion greens, dill, cucumber, celery, 1 carrot, 1 apple)
40 oz pineapple juice

Today I noticed that my tongue had the detox white coating. I was really bothered by it for some reason--really embarrassed of it. Brushed my teeth several times (as usual). It seemed to be somewhat thicker than the coating during other cleanses I've done, so I was encouraged to go longer with the juice feast. It would make sense that it's thicker than before, as my diet was more toxic for the past year or so.

Day 8

Today I had:

32 oz grapefruit and lemon with zeolites
40 oz green juice (spinach, sprouts, parsley, cucumber, celery)
23 oz concord grape juice-- YUM!
15 oz pineapple, peach
water with zeolites

Felt so good and lively today! I had the energy to focus and I was feeling optimistic about everything. I feel like a barrier of some sort was lifted, particularly pertaining to the juice feast. I feel like it's making me stronger in so many ways. I still don't have a "stop date" in mind. I am just going with the flow. :)

Today I've been emotionally detoxing a bit, but it's better than the past 2 days. It clears up pretty quickly but it's definitely detox.

I had a hot bowel movement around 6 pm so I know I'm getting rid of some pretty intense toxins. It felt good to get out of me, but I sure knew it was leaving! haha Since then, I feel like I have more energy.

Day 7

24 oz coconut water with zeolites
48 oz kale, dandelion greens, parsley, cilantro, cucumber, carrot, celery, ginger, a tiny apple
48 oz pineapple, grapefruit, peach
8 oz lemon with MSM and zeolites

I woke up feeling a bit hot today in the solar plexus area of my stomach. I was normal temperature everywhere else. I think things were balancing out in my solar plexus chakra because I felt different bursts of energy leaving the area. I just let it flow--nothing to get worked up over. I'm not going to analyze it either.

This morning, I did NOT want to make my juice again. Had another 'episode' just like yesterday...

Today I had my colon hydrotherapy session. It went very well, everything was green. :) The water went pretty far, into my ascending colon. After it was done, I felt more energetic and clear. I want to go to bed really early today though, so I'm going to listen to my body.

I scheduled another colon hydrotherapy session for next Wednesday.

Day 6

Today I had:

54 oz green juice (kale, celery, carrot, cucumber, cilantro, parsley, ginger)
42 oz papaya, pineapple, lemon, lime
water with zeolites
14 oz lemon, lime with MSM, camu camu powder, and zeolites

I had a pretty good day today. I was more clear-headed than yesterday. I had a little episode this morning where I didn't want to make any juice, so Tanya made it for me (which I completely appreciated). She was being super supportive. I was resistant to getting up earlier than normal today. Plus, I did a little emotional detoxing today. I let go of certain old thought patterns. And as of 4pm today, I feel more refreshed and VERY optimistic/excited about something (can't put my finger on it quite yet)... I'm ready to personally develop further... and keep going with the juice feast. I was researching Germanic new medicine today like crazy!!!

My green juice was way better today, definitely drinkable. Hopefully will do something similar tomorrow. :)

I had quite a few detox bowel movements. I'm really getting used to those. I urinate all day really, and maybe every other time I go to the bathroom I have a tiny bowel movement.

Tomorrow is colon hydrotherapy. I'm really looking forward to it!

Day 5

32 oz lemon, lime, pineapple with MSM and zeolites
52 green juice (arugula, parsley, kale, cilantro, dandelion greens, celery, cucumber, fresh grown sprouts, dill, green onion, 1 beet, ginger, turmeric, hot pepper)
30 oz grapefruit, blackberry, apple
12 oz water with MSM, zeolites, and camu camu powder
12 oz water with lime

I woke up feeling much more clear-headed today. Pretty good day. In the afternoon I got a bit tired but probably because I wasn't drinking a lot of juice then....

Yeah... today I realized how bad of a green juice preparer I am. Today's green juice was pretty repulsive. My green juices consist of anything and everything in random quantities. Sure it's healthy, but it is seriously repulsive because I'm combining random flavors that don't match (like green onion, beet, ginger, dill, hot pepper...?). I think I'm breaking the whole "too many cooks spoil the soup" rule... I'm taking too many ingredients, making a mixture of them all, and trying to get it down. I need to make more simple green juices I think. Tomorrow I'm going to experiment a bit more with yummier tasting green juices... or else I can't juice feast for too long.

I probably only drank 36 oz of the 52 oz green juice... I never had a green juice that tasted so bad. I felt bad about wasting it, but I couldn't take any more. Keeping it simple tomorrow.

I sat in the direct sunlight around 3pm and enjoyed soaking in some sun rays. It put me in a better mood. :)

Tonight I have a bit of a detox headache and I'm pretty tired... I've been debating if I should drink more juice or just go to bed early. I've been drinking a lot of water and I think I'm going to bed soon. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning.

Day 4

Today I had:

10 oz grapefruit, lemon with zeolites
36 oz green juice (chard, celery, kale, spinach, cucumber, cilantro, parsley, ginger, turmeric)
24 oz veggie juice (celery, red pepper, cucumber, hot pepper)
24 oz fruit juice (pomegranate, peach, apple, blackberry) with MSM and zeolites

I slept in a bit later than usual today. I needed the sleep and I woke up very refreshed. I wasn't very hungry today for a lot of juice because I felt very satisfied with what I was drinking. I think that I don't want as much juice on the weekends. During the weekday when I'm at school, I enjoy the juice because I'm learning all day. But since this was a relaxing weekend for me due to detox, I didn't feel drawn to drink more than necessary.

Today I experienced a lot of intestinal movement and grumbling. I had several bowel movements, all of which were very dark and smelly. The more I went, the better I felt. :)

My skin has cleared up a bit today. I'm guessing it's because of all of the bowel movements. The toxins are really starting to leave via my colon.

Got more produce today for the upcoming week. I realized how many dandelion greens I have in the refrigerator. This should be interesting...

Day 3

Today I had:

32 oz raspberry, grapefruit, coconut water, lemon, peach (YUM!)
64 oz green juice (dandelion greens, kale, cilantro, parsley, celery, cucumber, lemon, 1 beet)
15 oz fruit juice (cantaloupe, cucumber, pineapple, apple)

I felt pretty good today. I still was a bit quiet and focused on what my body is experiencing. Letting things be and just taking the time to let my body feel the way it's feeling. Being patient with myself. No agenda.

My skin detox was a bit worse today. More elimination through the skin of my forearms and face.

Day 2

Today I had:

12 oz lemon juice with water, MSM, camu camu powder, and zeolites
32 oz apple, cantaloupe, pineapple, and peach
54 oz green juice (kale, chard, spinach, dandelion greens, celery, parsley, cilantro, cucumber, 1 beet, 1 carrot, ginger)
15 oz "salsa" juice (tomato, red pepper, cilantro, red onion, garlic, hot red pepper
11 oz "margarita" juice (apple, lime, ginger, cinnamon)

The margarita juice was phenomenal! I highly recommend you make it. It tasted sweet, sour, and salty--just like the "real" thing. Here is how it was made:

Margarita recipe
4 green apples (my apples were very small, you may want to use 2 if they're large)
2 limes
chunk of ginger
a pinch of cinnamon

Detox-wise... I had a headache at night and I was a bit dizzy. I noticed that my forearms started to get a few pimple-like bumps. My face's complexion is starting to get a bit icky too. A few pimples just started popping up.

Also I made some herbal tea for myself and I probably had 1/3 of a cup and I started to feel extremely queazy and nauseous. My body didn't want tea at the time, and I actually threw it up. I instantly felt better. I have become more sensitive to what my body wants. Yesterday I had a cup of herbal tea as well, but my body enjoyed it quite much.

Day 1

In my first post, I forgot to mention a few goals of juice feasting:
  • Drink 4+ quarts of fresh-made fruit and vegetable juice daily
  • Drink the juice of a full head of celery each day (celery is high in organic sodium, which is an alkalizing mineral)
  • Drink the juice of 2 lbs of leafy greens
  • Drink the juice of 1 cucumber daily
  • Juice anything else for the rest--veggies, fruits, ginger, etc.

Today I had:

8 oz grapefruit, lemon, and lime juice with zeolites
48 oz green juice (kale, spinach, chard, celery, ginger, cucumber, a beet, a hot pepper)
36 oz green and fruit juice (cilantro, parsley, spinach, apple, celery, pineapple)
8 oz grapefruit, lemon, and lime juice with camu camu powder, MSM, and zeolites

A fun detoxification note: I didn't expect that on Day 1 of my juice feast would I have some interesting detox bowel movements. I figured I'd just be eliminating what was already in my colon--solid material. But I was eliminating more liquidly, mucous-coated strands/clumps. It smelled pretty bad--many toxins were released with it--it was good to get it out of me. Meanwhile, I scheduled a colon hydrotherapy session for next week. Figured that would be a good idea at the rate I'm detoxing. :)

But as I always experience with detoxing, I felt much more balanced and energetic after the series of bowel movements.

I felt really good today, even for detoxing. I was a little bit more quiet and introspective than normal and a little weak but I'm familiar enough with cleansing and I just played it low. I let things flow much better and didn't try to make things happen. It was so refreshing. I'm feeling very positive about the world and my personal development right now.

Enough is Enough!

I have decided that I am going to do a juice feast. I was a raw food vegan for just under a year, and then I got off the raw wagon and experienced altered general mood, brain fog, lack of motivation, digestive issues, weight gain, strange victim emotions and fears, less vibrant looking skin and eyes, decreased spiritual interest, and the list really goes on. I tried to force myself back into a raw food diet with no success--I'd be raw for a full week or two but my MIND wasn't with it. I knew it was a problem. So I decided to work on the level of the mind a bit--I started to notice my insane fears about myself and the world that are the root of my mind issues. I just recently let some of these fears loose and I am starting to realize that these fears can no longer serve me. They have done absolutely nothing for me except make me miserable.

So I decided to put my health--body, mind, and spirit--into my own hands again. I wanted to do a cleanse so I can gather new thoughts while I release old ones. The first thing I thought of was fresh-made juice. I knew there were juice fasts, but a juice feast is what appealed to me.

So I am going to do a juice feast. It's where you drink 4+ quarts of freshly made fruit and vegetable juices, as well as a few superfoods such as spirulina and chlorella powder, adaptogenic herbs, bee pollen, MSM, herbal teas, etc. I'm not sure how long I will do this (some people do 30 to 92 days and more), but time is not the important thing right now. The point is that I'm starting it--right now. I'll blog daily about what I'm drinking and how I'm feeling, so anyone that is interested can take my experiences and perhaps apply some things to their own life, to better their health. : )

Cheers!
